LOC.id in
E-Scooters
It is hard to imagine public cityscapes without e-scooters, as they offer a fast and climate-friendly means of transport for many occasions. Unfortunately, they also pose a serious risk, especially for people with visual impairments. LOC.id offers a technical solution to this problem. Equipped e-scooters emit an acoustic warning signal as soon as a user with an active LOC.id app approaches. The signal becomes more intense in volume and timing the closer the person gets. In this way, e-scooters can be precisely located and safely avoided. The system is currently being used successively in the first 10 German cities with a total of around 25,000 e-scooters from the Estonian multi-mobility provider Bolt.
